(WMAR) – Did you know that men often sleep better than women? Sometimes it’s genetic, more often than not, it’s because women often have sleep issues that go undiagnosed and untreated. Dr. Rachel Salas, specializes in sleep disorders at Johns Hopkins. She says women are at a greater risk for insomnia, restless leg syndrome and sleep apnea after menopause. Warning signs include getting 7 to 9 hours of sleep and still not feeling rested, and if you wake up more than two times a night and you’re not able to go back to sleep within 15 minutes or so and you’re doing this more than three times a week for the realm of three months you’re in the realm of chronic insomnia.
